Surveys
The London Borough of Newham set up the Newham Household Panel Survey in 2002 to understand the changing social and economic circumstances of people from the diverse communities in Newham. The findings are widely used for policy development, planning and monitoring progress.
The NHPS is modelled on the British Household Panel Survey for comparability with a national data source. It is based on a random sample of 1,000 households and respondents are interviewed face to face about a range of topics, and some questions are rotated every two or more years. The survey is managed by Newham's Corporate Research Unit.
